KUNMING, China — Chen Mingjing’s entrepreneurial instincts vaulted him from a peasant upbringing to undreamed-of wealth, acquired in ventures ranging from making electric meters to investing in real estate. But when he was 44, the allure of making money for money’s sake began to wane. He wanted to run a business that accomplished some good.

Ok, most of the people in China who I have meet live in huts and kill dogs, but maybe this guy can do some good. Let’s see what he has planned.

And so last September, Mr. Chen did what any socially aware entrepreneur might do: He opened a theme park of dwarfs , charging tourists about $9 a head to watch dozens of dwarfs in pink tutus perform a slapstick version of “Swan Lake” along with other skits.

This man is a genius. Where is his Noble prize?

Of course there are people (idiots) who are against the idea:

“I think it is horrible,” said Gary Arnold, the spokesman for Little People of America Inc. , a dwarfism support group based in California. “What is the difference between it and a zoo?” Even the term “dwarf” is offensive to some; his organization prefers “person of short stature.”

You can read the entire article at The New York Times.

So, who is our Freak of the Day? Well, Mr. Gary "The Midget" Arnold is a prime candidate. However, I will be going with each and everyone of us. We should have thought of this idea first. This is why China is winning.

A 101-year-old woman in China has baffled doctors after growing a huge goat-like horn on her forehead.

Fucking shit! She’s growing a horn! What does her family have to say about it?

"[At first] we didn’t pay too much attention to it," said Mrs Zhang’s youngest son Zhang Guozheng.

How can you possibly ignore it? Seriously, go look at more pictures of this thing . She’s growing a fucking horn. How can you do anything but pay attention to it? I have trouble ignoring a prominent zit on someone’s face, this is a fucking horn.

"Now something is also growing on the right side of her forehead — it’s quite possible that it’s another horn."

SHE’S GROWING ANOTHER ONE????? That black dot on her right - that’s the beginning of another horn? Motherfuck, she’s actually a demon. Look, it’s going to be obvious when that second one comes in, they’re perfectly situated. She’s a demon. Fantastic.

Century old demon lady, you’re my favorite freak of the day.

You know, true crime stories really are the best. No matter what wild things you hear about, you always feel confident that there are certain things that are so stupefyingly ridiculous that they could never happen… and then they do.

Here is a case in point.

It started as a routine traffic stop in a Wichita neighborhood Thursday evening.

When police pulled over the car they found a 33-year-old man bleeding from the head and telling an unusual story.

Bear in mind, by the time the police have heard the story, their standard for “unusual” has already been calibrated as “more unusual than pulling over a guy who’s bleeding from his head.” Something tells me it’s going to be good.

The victim said a couple of weeks ago he bought several hundred dollars of crack-cocaine with Monopoly money and now the dealer was ready for pay back.

And with that, countless cliche jokes about paying for crap with Monopoly money have lost their irony. Or gained irony. Whatever.

“The man from whom he had bought the drugs was upset and invited him over to his house and upon arrival struck him in the head several times with a handgun and other people jumped into the fray,” said Gordon Bassham with the Wichita Police Department.

The victim was able to get away and escape serious injury.

At this point police say he’s being uncooperative.

Let’s recap up to this point. 1. Drug dealer gets paid in Monopoly money; apparently does not notice. 2. Two weeks later, he figures it out and gets pissed off. 3. Guy accepts an invitation to the drug dealer’s house, knowing full well that he screwed him over.

Are we not living in an age of reason?

Despite the unusual circumstances, officers still want to arrest the attacker.

“That was not a get out-of-jail-free card,” Bassham said. [KSDK.com]

Ladies and gentlemen: the rimshot heard ’round the world.

Many years ago I decided that I would never watch a show like the X-Files again. I was hooked on the X-Files and at the end of it they didn’t answer any of the questions the series brought up. It turns out the truth isn’t out there.

Then a show called Lost came about and I got hooked. Mostly because of Evangeline Lilly . God damn she is hot.

The show was great and had a ton of hidden stuff that killed time during my boring job. The writers of this show promised that all of the questions the series raised would be answered.

Well….

"There’s a lot of little questions that unfortunately we just don’t have time to answer in the amount of time that we have left," co-creator Cuse told the uber-fans.

What the fuck did he just say?

Cuse said of any unresolved plot issues: "Ultimately, the way we look at it is that if the characters don’t care about that question, then we as storytellers don’t care about that question."

You motherfucking cunting piece of shit.

You are my Freak of the Week. I hate you and I hate Lost .

Hey, does anyone have Ms. Lilly’s email address?

Here’s the gist of the story :

A Denver mother allegedly forced her 13-year-old daughter and her 13-year-old friend to have sex with gang members and criminals in exchange for drugs and money, according to law enforcement officials and neighbors.

*     *     *

The men, who were mostly gang members, would pay the mother in crack cocaine, methamphetamine or cash, according to the Denver District Attorney’s office.

The mother used the money to buy drugs for herself and drugs and alcohol for the girls in her apartment in west Denver.

Fine job. Glad you had a kid, lady. So, so, so very happy that you’re working so hard to make sure your child has all of the disadvantages you never had. We don’t know your name, because somebody in the world is trying to protect your child at least a little bit, but you’re the freakiest of the freaks of the day, no doubt.

Now, on a far less loathsome level, but still pretty fucking irksome to me, I’m forced to add a bonus freaklet today. This is in one of the last paragraphs from the article:

It’s likely these girls will have long-term affects from something like this…

Even aside from the banality of printing such an obvious fucking statement, how do you become a professional journalist, presumably checked by a professional editor, and still not know the difference between "affects" and "effects?" I really want to know. Nice job, author.

For nearly two months prosecutors have suggested Dr. Earl B. Bradley, the alleged pedophile pediatrician from Lewes, had molested an unknown number of girls, far more than the nine patients he was charged in December with raping.

On Monday, the Attorney General’s Office made its suspicions official, with a grand jury indictment accusing Bradley of sexually assaulting 102 girls and one boy he treated – a more than tenfold increase in the number of victims originally alleged.

103 fucking kids? Are you fucking shitting me? How the fuck do you leave your child alone with a doctor? You bring your kid to the office and then you go in with them. That is just common sense.

FoTD has been giving some trouble to Dangerous Lilly for a couple of weeks. And I haven’t really jumped into that fray; as far as easy targets go, big girls who proudly link overeating and being fat to their status as super-sexy bloggers are pretty much the broadside of the barn (literally and figuratively). My response to her insanity was just to kind of half-heartedly start to comment on her horseshit a couple of times, then drift off to something more important.

Then Rob posted a pretty long story about her responses to him . Out of all of that, this little quote from Lilly jumped out at me:

When you go and do your Freak of the Day against a celebrity or a nobody that you read an article about once online, that’s a bit damn different from doing this to someone’s face.

What really caught my eye about this is that it doesn’t really contain any logical content. It boils down to nothing more than, "It’s fine when you do this to other people - even people who didn’t ask for internet ‘celebrity’ but only ended up on the internet based on bad decisions - but not when you do it to me."

Lilly, you are a "nobody [we] read an article about once online." That’s how you ended up here. The big difference is that rather than being a "nobody" who just got passed around the intertubes when some paper published an article highlighting your stupidity, you’re the kind of nobody who invited the world to look into your life and comment on it by blasting fat, naked pictures of yourself all over the damn place , basically saying to the internet, "LOOK AT ME! LOVE ME! CHUBBY CHASERS, HERE I AM, COME FAWN OVER ME!" Congratulations, you found those people. Unfortunately, as often happens when you invite the world to come look at you, you learned that not everyone finds what you have to offer (in this case, naked rolls of food-covered fat) attractive, and you also learned that some people will say so. Oops.

But to the point of this article: Don’t worry, the internet has proven that no matter how much you let yourself go in whatever way, there will always be some fetishist that will find it "attractive." Take this as an example:

In Bucharest, Romania, a 528 pound woman recently gave birth at a hospital specially equipped to handle the morbidly obese. Her 154 pound fiance apparently found the immobile mass of human flesh pictured below so enticing that he could not help but impregnate it:

Who can blame him, right? I just hope he never says, in the heat of an argument, "What are you going to do about it, sit on me? " Chilling support for an unfortunate truth; not only does it take all sorts to make the world go around, it takes some sorts who are baffling to everyone else.

So, hey, I’m glad you’ve admitted you’re not particularly healthy, Lilly. That’s step one. Step two is putting down the food, the camera you’re using to take pictures of yourself gorging on the food because you’ve managed to find the fetish community that thinks fat girls eating food are sexy, and whatever lingerie catalog caters to girls your size. Step three is doing something to make yourself healthy.

Hell, I’m not even suggesting you have to push yourself to some point where you meet some universal ideal of "good looking" or whatever. I’m just suggesting you moderate things until you have more blood in your veins than gravy. It’s a lofty goal.

People can only take so much shit. Doesn’t matter if they brought the shit on themselves or if they’re just getting shat on, but eventually, enough is enough. Just ask Terry Hoskins.

MOSCOW, Ohio –
Like many people, Terry Hoskins has had troubles with his bank. But his solution to foreclosure might be unique.

Hoskins said he’s been in a struggle with RiverHills Bank over his Clermont County home for nearly a decade, a struggle that was coming to an end as the bank began foreclosure proceedings on his $350,000 home.

“When I see I owe $160,000 on a home valued at $350,000, and someone decides they want to take it – no, I wasn’t going to stand for that, so I took it down,” Hoskins said.

Hoskins said the Internal Revenue Service placed liens on his carpet store and commercial property on state Route 125 after his brother, a one-time business partner, sued him.

“The average homeowner that can’t afford an attorney or can fight as long as we have, they don’t stand a chance,” he said.

Hoskins said he’d gotten a $170,000 offer from someone to pay off the house, but the bank refused, saying they could get more from selling it in foreclosure.

Hoskins told News 5’s Courtis Fuller that he issued the bank an ultimatum.

“I’ll tear it down before I let you take it,” Hoskins told them.

Oh, man, what happens next? I bet he has a moment of sober reflection, in which he realizes the rashness of his plan and reconsiders his future actions.

The Moscow man used a bulldozer two weeks ago to level the home he’d built, and the sprawling country home is now rubble, buried under a coating of snow.

Oh.

“As far as what the bank is going to get, I plan on giving them back what was on this hill exactly (as) it was,” Hoskins said. “I brought it out of the ground and I plan on putting it back in the ground.”Hoskins’ business in Amelia is scheduled to go up for auction on March 2, and he told Fuller he’s considering leveling that building, too.

RiverHills Bank declined to comment on the situation, but Hoskins said his actions were intended to send a message.

“Well, to probably make banks think twice before they try to take someone’s home, and if they are going to take it wrongly, the end result will be them tearing their house down like I did mine,” Hoskins said.

I don’t want to be a snark or anything, but that message might be, “Don’t lend to people. When you try to get them to pay back, they’re going to be real babies about it.”

Hoskins said he’s heard from people all over the country since his story first aired Thursday, and he said most have been supportive.

He said he sought legal counsel before tearing down his home and understands the possible consequences, but he has never doubted his decision once he made it.

“When I knew I was going to lose it, I decided to take it down,” Hoskins said. [WLWT]

Let this be a lesson: people will support any action that’s irrational or even borderline insane, as long as they’re pissed off about something semi-related.

Insert Image of Fat Person here

The other week, our board found a site called Dangerous Lilly.

Dangerous Lilly is what chubby chasers refer to as a “fat girl.” She eats regularly and posts pictures of the food she eats which includes fried chicken, fettucini alfredo, and an assortment of other heavy people food. She talks about sploshing, which is having sex with food, and writes erotica in her spare time, which may be true stories. I’m not sure. She also posts naked pictures of her boobies in her spare time.

And it all started here.

So where is Dangerous Lilly now? Well one of our board members decided to go behind enemy lines to find out. The result is this little conversation.

DJ: Hi Luka! [editor's note: hehehe. Luka.]

How are you?

I’m one of those “we’re so mean…but only in a gang…anonymously…on the net, safe at home with the door locked” people you talk about.

This post in question is nothing like you described. It doesn’t attack her for “being fat” at all. I’m fat. The writer of said article is fat. It’s not the fat we care about. In fact the writer even calls her sexy and says she turns him on. The only problem he has is those sexy fat women who think they are sexy fat women (which she has posted she is “fat”) but who claim its healthy. I’ll admit she doesn’t claim that but the writer of said blog didn’t do a lot of research. He’s not big into research when it comes to short posts on a group blog.

And he does say he is disgusted but why is that an insult? Just because ONE person doesn’t find your particular self attractive? We ALL have been guilty of being disgusted by someone based simply on appearance. Anyone who claims different is lying.

You all make us out to be fat hating people. We aren’t. I love myself and I’m fat.

And to all the other posters who devolve into calling us names and labeling us trolls, you think you’re any better than us? You are just quick to whip out insults without even knowing us.

DangerousLilly: DJ: I specifically hereby call you exempt from the bad words being spoken. Partially because you’re 18 and not old enough to know better yet and partially because you’re not being cruel. There is a world of difference in me calling myself “fat” and the author of the post hurling it as an insult, for he did so mean it as an insult. His title “Ever Fuck a Fatty”? Yeah, nice. Him insisting that even though my tits are great, the rest of me must be a mess? Noooo thats not insulting *at all*. I’m supposed to be flattered and overlook the insults just because he said I’m sexy….until you see me? That he’s not sure whether to be turned on or disgusted?

Many of my friends commenting here have seen the whole thread, starting with the first reply as “blog war is go”. Nice. They also read the emails between Rob and I that he so kindly posted for you all to read and laugh over. But it’s these that really hurt me, these that brought on the “troll” term because he was trying to upset me and trying to get more responses for which he could entertain the troops.

I wrote: “No, actually, I’m NOT ok with you and your members publicly ridiculing me. You know what? It’s not nice. It’s hurtful, and it’s mean. When you go and do your Freak of the Day against a celebrity or a nobody that you read an article about once online, that’s a bit damn different from doing this to someone’s face. Which, since you decided to link to my post and the site pinged it so that I know about it….it IS to my face, at least in my opinion.

Does it make you guys feel good to do that? No, really, I’d like to know.
Do you get enjoyment out of hurting people? Does it make you giggle to know that the nasty words made me cry for a minute?”

And then Rob (and the “collective the board members”) wrote: “I’m sorry you’re upset, but on a website where you openly call yourself fat, post pictures of food, and your boobs, what would you expect the outcome to be? I didn’t write that article; I just read it today because of your email, but now that I’m involved…I have many questions:

Why would you care what we write? Did you think the author of that post was THAT hard on you? It seemed kind of complimentary.

My board members want to know:

My board members want to know if your tears smell like gravy. Do they? And if so, what kind: Fresh or canned?

Are you fat because you were pregnant and never lost the weight? Still pregnant? Glandular? Laziness?

Do you have a rascal? How do you feel about them as a mode of transportation?

Are you allowed to go on amusement park rides or Segways? Are you excluded from them.

What’s your favorite food? And don’t say everything.

Have you ever put chapstick on your lips, liked the smell of it and ate your chapstick?

Was the Haiti quake caused by you falling out of bed looking for a gummy bear that unstuck out of your knee fat?”
Prior to this I was NOT attacking Rob, I simply emailed him because he is the site owner.

Then you guys actually took the time to hunt down my damn Twitter account and start posting my tweets when I said I was upset, more fodder for them to laugh about. It’s this that I find appalling. That the more hurt I am, the more the members of that board seem to enjoy it.

I was upset as well because, as you pointed out, the writer of the post is telling everyone how I claim I’m healthy and that all fat people are healthy. Nope, never once said that and in fact I’ve said the opposite quite a few times.

It doesn’t matter now. I’m not going back to read any more of what is said there, and I’m done feeling hurt. I know what I am, I know I’m more than my numbers on a scale, and I know what I’m doing to better myself.

Rayne says:

DJ: I don’t exempt you from the harsh words for being 18. 18 is plenty old enough to have developed decent reading comprehension skills. You know you and your lot are a bunch of dicks. Stand up for what’s right or crawl back under the dick rock.

18’s such young age to be labeled “that guy who can’t tell the difference between his ass and a hole in the ground” for the rest of your life. For the love of Pete, pull your head out of the sand.

Elise says:
I am so damned tired of skinny being the only acceptable way to be sexy. Screw that. Lilly, you are amazing. The sexiest people I know are just people who own their sexuality. You have a quality that makes you shine Lilly, and you would shine whether you weighed 90 lbs. or 600.

And there you have it. My questions are still left unanswered. I do want to address a few things:

None of your fans, Lilly…none of them know you in real life. You are an internet caricature of what you want to be in real life, and you use the internet to create a persona and hide behind that persona because in all probability, nobody can stand the sight of you in reality. Your commentors know nothing about you. They don’t have any emotional investment in what you do with yourself. You’re being used as a chubby chaser’s spank bank. Nothing more. Nothing less. Don’t use your website as a fat people’s support group when the only thing you use to represent yourself are poorly written stories of you getting nailed in a car, pictures of food you eat, and cropped nude photos.

What makes me laugh about this whole situation is not that you’re just an easy fat target to make fun of on the internet. No. You’ve most likely been that fat easy target all of your life. You being fat and having a blog doesn’t make you the target. You having a blog for the explicit reason of hiding the truth about your true feelings makes you a target. You’re not ok with being fat, and you’re using your “fans” as an excuse to live a new life away from the life you’ve always hated. You use your blog to find your self-esteem, and it probably works…until you have to turn your computer off and face reality where people don’t see a Photoshopped version of your boobs and can smell the fat smell that fat people have. If that’s what you want, the internet is the right place to find that niche of people who will love you for your…well whatever it is people love you for, but that goes away when your cable modem goes out, doesn’t it?

My beef isn’t with you being overweight. Freak Safari and the internet in general has a long history of people pretending to be who they aren’t, making fun of fat people when they’re not thin themselves, self-deception. I’m no stranger to seeing internet lies, which is why it’s so easy to call bullshit on you. You’re not happy with yourself. In all likelihood you probably HATE yourself. So stop pretending you don’t for a few minutes. The real you is probably much more interesting.
